What’s At Risk When You Have a Wet Basement or Crawl Space

It doesn’t take a flood to cause serious problems in your basement or crawl space. Sometimes it starts with a smell. Or damp concrete. Or a soft spot in the floor that didn’t used to be there.

Here’s what that water can do beneath your home:

  • Foundation Damage and Shifting Walls: Water builds pressure around your foundation and causes cracks or movement. That pressure weakens your home’s structure over time.
  • Mold That Spreads Into Living Areas: Damp air and surfaces create the perfect place for mold to grow. Once it’s there, it can spread quickly and affect your air quality.
  • Lost Space and Lower Home Value: A wet basement or crawl space can’t be used for storage or living. That means less usable space and a drop in resale value.
  • Rising Heating and Cooling Costs: Humid crawl spaces make your HVAC system work harder. That added strain shows up in your monthly utility bills.
  • Bugs and Rodents Moving In: Termites, ants, and mice are drawn to damp, dark spaces. Once water is present, pests often follow.

If you’re already dealing with one or more of these issues, you know how frustrating and expensive it can be. The time, the stress, the cleanup—it all adds up.

Let’s put a stop to it. EverDry offers proven, permanent basement and crawl space waterproofing solutions that protect your home for good.

Seeing Water in Your Basement? Our Basement Waterproofing Services Will Keep This Space Dry for Good

We install proven basement waterproofing systems that protect your foundation, control moisture, and turn your basement into clean, dry, usable space again—no more musty air, no more puddles, and no more worrying every time it rains.

Whether your basement is finished or unfinished, we’ll make sure it stays dry, safe, and ready for whatever you want to do with it.

When to Waterproof Your Basement

We work with a lot of homeowners who brush off basement moisture—until the musty smell turns into mold, or a few damp spots turn into serious water damage. We don’t want that for you.

If you’re seeing any of these signs, let us take a look. We’ll perform a full inspection and walk you through exactly what’s going on and what it’ll take to stop it.

Damp Walls or a Persistent Musty Smell

If the air feels damp or smells a little off, moisture is already working its way in. It’s a common early warning sign of mold growth.

White, Chalky Residue on Concrete

That powdery buildup (called efflorescence) shows that water has been seeping through the foundation and leaving minerals behind.

Wall Cracks or Water Seepage

Small cracks might not seem serious, but they give water an easy way in—especially after a heavy rain or snowmelt.

Puddles or Water on the Floor

If water is pooling on the floor, the basement is no longer protected. That moisture can lead to structural damage and mold.

Condensation on Basement Windows

When windows fog up from the inside, it means the humidity is high. That damp air can fuel mold, rot, and indoor air issues.

Interior and Exterior Basement Waterproofing Methods That Fully Protect Your Home

Some homes need exterior drainage. Others need interior waterproofing. Most need a combination of both. That’s because basement water problems rarely come from just one source—and solving them for good means looking at the whole picture.

At EverDry, we design full waterproofing systems that work together to stop water on the outside, manage moisture on the inside, and protect your basement from every angle. Here’s more about our basement waterproofing services:

Exterior Drainage Systems

The best way to keep water out? Stop it before it gets in. Our exterior drainage systems—like French drains—are installed around your foundation to catch groundwater and carry it away from your home. This takes the pressure off your basement walls and helps prevent serious moisture issues down the line.

Interior Drainage Systems

If water is already getting inside, an interior drainage system is the next line of defense. We install low-profile drains around the inside of your basement floor to capture any seepage and send it straight to your sump pump—before it can pool, spread, or cause damage.

Backup Sump Pump Installation

Your sump pump is only helpful if it’s working. Storms and power outages can knock it offline when you need it most. That’s why we install battery backup systems, including our SmartPower™ unit, to keep water moving even when the power’s out.

Vapor Barrier Installation

Not all moisture comes through cracks. Sometimes it creeps in as vapor through porous walls. Our heavy-duty vapor barriers seal that off, helping reduce basement humidity, block mildew growth, and create a cleaner, healthier space.

Downspout Extensions and Drainage Upgrades

Sometimes the problem starts above ground. We improve yard drainage by extending downspouts and redirecting runoff away from your foundation—helping protect your basement from the top down.

At EverDry, we keep it simple: inspect, explain, solve. Request a free basement waterproofing inspection today.

Water in Your Crawl Space? Our Crawl Space Waterproofing Services Seal Moisture Out

Your crawl space might be out of sight, but it plays a big role in your home’s comfort, stability, and air quality. When water gets in, it doesn’t just stay below—it spreads damage upward. From mold and wood rot to pests and rising energy bills, moisture in your crawl space is never harmless.

That’s why EverDry offers professional crawl space waterproofing services in Meridian Hills, IN—to help you catch problems early and protect your home where it matters most.

When to Waterproof Your Crawl Space

Moisture issues in your crawl space don’t always come with obvious warning signs. But if you know what to look for, you can catch the problem before it turns into something much more expensive. Here are a few red flags that you need crawl space waterproofing:

  • Visible Moisture: Standing water, wet spots, or a damp crawl space floor usually means water is getting in—and it won’t stop on its own.
  • Musty Odors: That earthy, musty smell is often the first clue that mold or mildew is growing somewhere below.
  • Visible Mold Growth: If you see mold on insulation, beams, or walls, it’s already spreading—and it’s affecting your air quality, too.
  • Foundation Cracks: Moisture puts pressure on your foundation, and cracks in your crawl space walls or floor are a sign it’s starting to give.
  • Uneven Floors: Soft spots or sagging floors above your crawl space often point to moisture-damaged wood or shifting supports.
  • Higher Energy Bills: A damp crawl space makes it harder for your HVAC system to do its job, raising humidity and your energy costs.
  • Increased Pest Activity: Moist, dark spaces attract termites, ants, and rodents—especially when wood rot is present.

Crawl Space Waterproofing Methods to Prevent and Overcome Water Damage

Waterproofing your crawl space isn’t one-size-fits-all. At EverDry, we use a combination of proven crawl space waterproofing methods to seal out moisture, control humidity, and protect your home.

  • Crawl Space Encapsulation: We install a heavy-duty vapor barrier across the crawl space floor and walls to block moisture from the soil and outside air. This fully sealed system creates a dry, controlled environment—helping prevent mold, wood rot, and long-term damage to your home’s structure.
  • Crawl Space Ventilation: Good airflow keeps moisture in check. Our ventilation systems help move damp air out and bring fresh air in, lowering humidity and improving indoor air quality. When paired with encapsulation, it creates a healthier, more balanced environment beneath your home.

We don’t just cover up problems—we fix them first. Before waterproofing begins, we inspect your crawl space for sagging beams, standing water, foundation cracks, and structural concerns. Crawl space repairs need to happen before waterproofing to ensure your system works as it should—and lasts.

Have Bowing or Cracked Walls? Our Foundation Services Will Fix It Fast

In Meridian Hills, homes sit on a mix of clay-heavy soil and older foundations—and when the ground moves, your house feels it. Maybe your basement walls are starting to bow. Maybe a door doesn’t close like it used to. Or maybe you’ve spotted cracks and hoped they’d go away on their own.

Foundation problems start small, but they only grow with time. That’s why it’s important to catch them early, understand what’s causing them, and take steps to protect your home before the damage spreads.

Here are a few common foundation problems to watch for:

  • Bowing Basement Walls: When wet soil pushes hard against your basement walls, they may start curving inward. It might look minor now, but bowing walls signal serious pressure and can eventually cause structural failure.
  • Cracked Basement Floors: Hairline cracks in your basement floor can widen over time and allow water to seep in. These are often caused by soil movement or settling pressure—and they’re a sign something’s shifting below.
  • Foundation Settling: If parts of your home are sinking more than others, you might see sloped floors, cracks in walls, or doors that stick. Uneven settling means your foundation isn’t properly supported.
  • Foundation Slab Cracks: Cracks in a foundation slab weaken the structure and create easy paths for water. Whether from soil shifts, age, or poor drainage, most slab cracks need to be repaired.
  • Foundation Wall Cracks: Vertical, horizontal, or stair-step cracks in your basement walls are all worth looking at. Horizontal cracks, especially, can mean pressure from rainwater buildup—and they’re a big sign it’s time to prevent water from getting in and doing more harm.

If you’ve noticed any of these signs around your Meridian Hills home, don’t wait until things get worse.

Why Foundation Repairs Have to Come First

If your foundation isn’t solid, nothing above it truly is. Trying to fix water problems without addressing underlying foundation issues is like patching drywall while the house is still shifting. That’s why foundation repairs come first—they protect the structure, stop movement, and set the stage for everything else that follows.

Here are the core foundation repair services we offer:

If you’ve noticed shifting walls, cracks, or uneven settling, let us take a look. We’ll build a repair plan that fits your home and gives you lasting peace of mind.

For many homes, that plan includes Stabl-Wall®, a carbon fiber system designed to reinforce and stabilize bowing or cracked foundation walls. These sleek, high-strength panels bond directly to the wall surface and hold it firmly in place—without bulky hardware or intrusive installation. Stabl-Wall doesn’t rust, won’t weaken over time, and doesn’t eat up valuable basement space. It’s a clean, permanent fix that helps protect your foundation for the long haul.

Prevent More Damage With Foundation Waterproofing

Once your foundation is repaired, waterproofing helps make sure those issues don’t come back. It keeps water from seeping through walls and floors—preventing the kind of moisture that causes cracks to reopen or walls to shift again. We install foundation waterproofing systems that are designed to work with your foundation repairs, not just sit on top of them. That way, everything underneath your home stays stable, dry, and protected.

Struggling With Musty Air or Allergies? Our Indoor Air Quality Products Can Help

When water enters your basement or crawl space, it doesn’t just damage the structure—it changes the air you breathe. Leaks, high humidity, and poor ventilation can lead to mold, mildew, and airborne allergens that linger and spread throughout your home. And if anyone in your household has allergies or asthma, those unseen issues can make symptoms worse.

At EverDry, we combine moisture control with smart indoor air quality (IAQ) solutions that keep your home dry and breathable. Once we’ve solved the root problem—unwanted water—we add systems that clean, balance, and refresh your indoor air:

E-Z Breathe® Ventilation System

This maintenance-free system pulls out moist, stale air from below your home and replaces it with drier, healthier air from above. It helps reduce mold, odors, and indoor air pollutants.

High-Capacity Dehumidifiers

Our dehumidifiers are built to handle large spaces and high moisture levels, pulling excess humidity out of the air to prevent mildew and protect your belongings.

Whole-Home Air Purifiers

These systems trap dust, allergens, mold spores, and other pollutants—so the air flowing through your vents is cleaner and easier to breathe.

If your home in Meridian Hills smells musty or feels humid, it could be more than discomfort—it could be affecting your health. Let EverDry pair our waterproofing expertise with proven air quality products to help your home stay dry, fresh, and healthier all around.

I chose the “ultimate” package to waterproof my basement. I had water issues for years which resulted in my foundation settling and cracked basement walls and mold and mildew. Everdry installed their “Stable Wall” system over the cracks in my walls to stabilize them. They also installed their EZ Breathe system. This has resulted in a complete change in the air quality of my entire home. I no longer have the musty and moldy smells! The crews were amazing. They worked hard and were professional. The entire job was completed in 2 days. The lifetime transferable warranty was also a big plus. It has been a year and no water in my basement. I no longer have “panic attacks” when it rains.

We used their service 6 years ago for waterproofing our basement due to a creek in our backyard. Any issue we had with install was taken care of immediately. We have had no problem since! Their customer service is helpful and professional as was their salesman. We have highly recommended them to others who have, in fact, used them as well! Very thankful we found Everdry for our waterproofing needs!
